Music and Drama

Performing Arts is thriving at Beechwood. Building on the successful Senior School productions, more students are opting for Music and Drama at GCSE and A-Level.

Over one third of the school have private music lessons from one of our visiting teachers and many opt to study for their LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) exams. Students in Year 7-9 have Drama and Music lessons timetabled each week.

Recent school productions have included Grease, We Will Rock You and High School Musical. The Autumn term heralds our Cultural Showcase where students in both the Performing and Creative Arts departments can display their skills and talents to a packed audience. Throughout the year, there is a series of Lunchtime recitals for students to perform in a more intimate setting.

Students have the opportunity to see live theatre productions and recent visits have included Grease in the West End, Blood Brothers and Crongton Knights.

Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.
