About the Position
Contract Type: Full Time, All Year Round
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 08:30am – 17:30pm

The Maintenance and Compliance Manager will be responsible for:
- All aspects of Maintenance and Compliance throughout the school.
- Ensuring that all policies and procedures remain fully compliant with all legislation and regulations.
- To ensure the senior team and staff are kept informed of all relevant changes in guidance and legislation.
- Identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; developing action plans for the mitigation of those risks and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
- Conducting internal audits of processes and procedures.
- Ensuring the school is always compliant with relevant legislation and are operating at best practice.
- The effective and efficient management of all Health and Safety, Fire Safety and Transport Safety Matters.
- Management of the maintenance staff, ensuring that the school environment is safe, clean, properly lit and heated to facilitate the effective teaching of pupils.
- Being aware of and complying with all policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- Part of this role will involve safeguarding responsibilities including the reporting of any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Team.
About you
This position will be best suited to someone who:
- Has previous knowledge of legislation within the Independent Education Sector.
- Can cope well under pressure and has good time management skills.
- Can interpret legislation and other laid down procedures and able to translate this information to non-specialists.
- Can manage a team of people and communicate what is expected of them effectively.
- Has knowledge of risk management, health and safety, and internal audit experience.
- Has the ability to work off their own initiative but also as part of a team.
