With a Stay and Play session for under-fives and experienced teachers ready to offer a wealth of information and guidance to parents of older children (especially those considering the important leap up to Year Seven in September) we have a lot to offer our Open Morning visitors.
Education, employment and the environment are changing at a pace that can be hard to navigate as parents. At our Open Morning, we look forward to showing you some of the things we find valuable for our pupils and how we build those methods and materials into our school day. We are the only co-educational school in Tunbridge Wells that can offer education all the way from the Early Years to A’ Levels. We have excellent wraparound care with minibus pickups available from local stations at 7.15am, followed by a nutritious breakfast. Our after school care will run to 6.30pm from April… and all wraparound care is free! We understand how hard it can be to balance work and family life and our values here at Beechwood are very much based on being a home from home.
Our Year Seven pupils enjoy the freedom of stepping up to Senior School, as part of an international day and boarding community, set in 23 acres of beautiful parkland. We nurture their individual talents and encourage confident decision making. We build life skills and resilience in all aspects of learning with a tailor-made education. Our students’ welfare and happiness is at the heart of all that we do. Throughout the Senior School, our students’ enthusiasm and passions are nurtured by a dedicated team of teachers who inspire them to give of their very best both in and outside the classroom, at school and at home. With 23 subjects at A Level including Photography, Art, Textiles, DT, Drama, Music, Psychology and Business Studies we allow students at all levels to play to their strengths and study the subjects that really excite them.
In our Pre-Prep, children are encouraged to learn through play and by having fun. Please do bring babies and toddlers to our Open Morning “Stay and Play”. Our Early Years team warmly invite our youngest Open Morning visitors to join a messy play session from 10am to 10.30am. With fun for under-fives and lots of new activities to explore, they will enjoy a very hands-on way to discover Beechwood.
In our Prep, personal development is valued as much as academic achievement with an emphasis on kindness, helpfulness and being part of a community with a global outlook. The school has a fine academic record with many pupils winning places at our local grammar schools. We also prepare pupils for a range of independent secondary schools including our own excellent Senior School here at Beechwood. In 2019, 91% of our Year Six pupils passed the 11+ Kent Test. A fantastic achievement!
We love our school and we are sure that you will too. We hope to see you on March 3rd. Tours will begin at 9.30am. Paul Kershaw (Acting Head) and John Coakley (Head of Prep) will be on hand to answer questions and offer guidance, with refreshments from 10.30am. Please complete the form below to register to attend our Open Morning.
