Beechwood Rugby Tour 2016

1 October 2016

Paris was the destination for Beechwood’s first ever rugby tour as 27, year 7 – 9 students took the trip across the channel. The boys played against more experienced teams in the tournament, but fought bravely and gave their all in each match.

The progress they made throughout the three day tournament was amazing. Students were treated to some master class training from George Chuter and Lewis Deacon amongst other professional players, which really developed their skills.

Both our U13 and U14 teams reached the Shield Finals and narrowly missed out, finishing runners up. The tour was captained by Charlie Wildy (year 9) who led the students in outstanding fashion and led by example on and off the pitch.

The tour culminated in a special awards ceremony at Planet Hollywood with Welsh giant Luke Charteris presenting the awards. The evening had a great atmosphere and was a fitting end to a fabulous tour.

We would like to thank local businesses Wagamamas, The Cake Shed and Baldwins Travel for their support and sponsorship of our new playing kit and polo shirts.
