Boarding helps boys and girls to become more independent whilst still benefiting from the care and attention of experienced, dedicated staff.
Recent refurbishment has taken place to provide comfortable, modern accommodation throughout, in single rooms for Sixth Formers and two-or three-bedded rooms for younger students. More than 80% of our students are from the UK, while our boarders include a range of nationalities from the UK and across the world. Beechwood encourages high standards and values – honesty, respect and consideration for others – derived from its Catholic tradition, while welcoming students of all religions. All Sixth Form students enjoy their own single study bedrooms. After school, students can attend school clubs and activities before returning to their boarding houses for supper and supervised study. In the evening, boarders can relax and socialise in common rooms. The Sixth Form have their own kitchen in which hot drinks, snacks and simple meals can be prepared.
School House – Girls
School House is located on the upper floors of the main school building. Recent refurbishment has created single study bedrooms, with washbasins, for Sixth Formers and two-bedded rooms for younger students. There are common rooms for different age-groups and boarders also use the Conservatory in the evenings and at weekends. Modern shower rooms are located a short distance from the bedrooms.
Loreto House – Boys
Loreto House opened in September 2014 when our first boy boarders joined Beechwood. It is located in a wing at the side of the main school building. The rooms are modern and comfortable. Sixth Formers have single study bedrooms with washbasins. Younger students share in two or three bedded rooms. Modern shower rooms are located nearby.
